Given that the Federal NICS system is already overburdened and that the State of New York intends to require a background check for all ammunition sales, we the people request that New York State and any other State that intends to do the same, be specifically prohibited from using the federal NICS system to conduct background checks for ammunition sales.
We request that the taxpayers and small business owners of the other States not be burdened by the costs, delays and backlog of requests that will surely follow, if New York State is allowed to flood the Federal NICS system with information requests on all ammunition sales.
