prohibit oil drilling in the Arctic.

Created by M.C. on May 12, 2015

The Arctic Ocean is extremely sensitive to environmental damage. Drilling in this area carries with it a high likelihood of a major spill -- according the Interior's Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, 75%. With currently available technologies and the type of weather typical in the area, we will not be able to clean up effectively such spills. Moreover, with ample oil supplies, there is no need for this rush to drill.
