We, the people, are no longer represented by our own representative and decisions are no longer made with the best interest of the public in mind. Rather, it is the interests of big business that dictates policy. It is the right of the American people to lobby Congress, but lobbying itself has become big business. Lawmakers are hearing the voices of the largest spenders, not the voices of the American people.
It is time to remove money from the process by making it illegal to compensate others to lobby lawmakers.
Let the people speak to Congress, not the lobbying firms or corporations they represent.
