Right now in America, the selling of firearms from one private individual to another is not illegal. I agree. However, at events such as gun shows, background checks are not required to purchase a gun.
This means that theoretically, a man who just spent 20 years in prison could purchase a wide variety of weapons without people finding out of his criminal past. I believe firmly in the 2nd amendment, but this needs to be stopped I believe.
