A republic will not survive long once the people find they can vote themselves money form others pockets.
Men who wish to remain in power may also do so by the buying of votes, promising hand-outs and the continuation of unearned benefits.
It is therefore necessary for the productive to safeguard and protect themselves and their liberty from abuse by these two groups by asking that individuals receiving welfare or food stamp assistance be prohibited from voting in federal elections.
