This petition is to prevent the media from publishing or broadcasting the names and/or faces of the shooter(s) or culprit(s) that commit public murder-suicides; and thereby remove the 'attention & recognition' aspect (that 5 minutes of fame) as a motivation for committing such acts.
It's a fact, during the 50s, 60s, 70s and pre-Columbine days, individuals committed suicide in private, and as sad as that is - it is inexcusable the media continues to give these individuals attention & recognition (their 5 minutes of fame).
By removing the attention & recognition, we remove all possible motivation these individuals have for making their suicides so horrific and public.
