As of December 23,a total of 12,942 people had been killed in the United States in 2015 in a gun homicide, unintentional shooting,or murder/suicide.From 2005-2015,71 Americans were killed in terrorist attacks on U.S. soil while 301,797 were killed by gun violence.Domestic violence assaults with firearms are 12 times more likely to result in death than those without them.Currently,there are 'strict' laws that prevent adults from possessing a firearm within 1,000 feet of a school.These and other gun control laws have failed to keep guns off school grounds.People say that it is their '2nd Amendment right' to have possession of a gun-we need to acknowledge the primary 'natural right' to life by prohibiting military guns for public use by potentially underage and untrained citizens.
