Prohibit state or federally elected officials from working for lobbying firms for five years after leaving office.

This petition asks the Obama administration to support legislation prohibiting state and federally elected politicians from going to work for any existing or future lobbying firm for five years after leaving office. Too many times we see politicians build relationships with lobbying firms while in office, only to then go to work for them either after declining to seek re-election or resigning from office early to take a position with the same lobbying firm they did business with while in office. This is NOT in the best interests of the American people.
