prohibit states from collecting income tax from workers who are not a legal resident of that state.

Created by L.S. on May 08, 2015

Many people throughout the country work in a different state than which they live. Some jobs require employees to work in multiple states. Many hard-working Americans are required to pay income tax in multiple states, though they only live in one state. This is taxation without representation and violates one of the most basic principles upon which our great nation was founded. A resident in Ohio who works in Pennsylvania should not have to pay state income tax to Pennsylvania, since they are already paying state income tax to Ohio. A resident of Ohio is not represented by the state government of Pennsylvania. They are represented by the state government of Ohio. States should be required to only collect income tax from residents in their state.
