With the very real threat of terrorism, we need new measures that separate responsible gun owners from suspected terrorists when it comes to purchasing a firearm. Simply put, those on the No Fly List, Terrorist Watch List or under investigation by the FBI for ties to known terrorist organizations (like ISIS), should not be allowed to legally purchase a firearm in the US. It is a fact that individuals on these lists wish to attack not just the lives of innocent Americans, but our ideologies of freedom, opportunity and acceptance--tenets that make American democracy truly special and unique. Let's take reasonable and sensible action to ensure that suspected terrorists can never again do what they did in San Bernardino and Orlando. Let's stop these people from causing yet another massacre.
