Prohibit unsupervised access by minors to firearms

Created by A.A. on June 10, 2014

Dear Mr. President,

Currently, individuals under the age of 21 are not allowed to purchase or drink alcohol, yet they can have unsupervised access to firearms. We beseech you to work with Congress and Senate to create a regulation that ensures when an adult is not present, that the firearms of a household are locked in a safebox to which minors do not have access. This would ensure that minors have proper supervision when handling these potentially dangerous weapons, while still allowing their second amendment rights to bear arms.

We have lost too many youth to peer-on-peer shootings which could be reduced by restricting unsupervised access to weapons by this age category.
