The use of helicopters to round up wild horses is inhumane, cruel and increases the stress and possible death of the horses and should be prohibited in favor of on the ground methods that are more natural thereby making it possible to discriminate as to the health of the horses to be sure they are not run if they are ill, that they be run only for reasonable distances with rest periods and food and water provided.
Herds that include obviously pregnant mares and colts too young to run with their mothers should not be run.
A spokesperson for the horses will have the power to stop the roundup and request mediation.
