Prohibition still does not work. Nor does criminalizing marijuana (hereinafter, "pot") possession in a manner that requires stiff prison sentences for non-violent, black market pot dealers at an estimated taxpayer expense of $50,000 per prisoner, a policy that places an estimated 750,000 pot dealers in federal prison next to hardened, violent criminals. Legalizing pot possession, pot growing for personal use and highly taxed exchange for pot will free up untold billions of dollars for law enforcement to fight other, more serious crimes, solve the problem of wasteful, the overcrowded prisons, raise sorely needed state and federal tax revenues, and give our justice system greater credibility by demonstrating greater integrity and intolerance for injustice, Make pot federally legal, dudes!
