Ford Motor Company is currently manufactoring vehicles with a Power Shift 6 speed transmission, which causes unsafe "Operating Characteristics". They include an excessive hesitation when attempting to accelerate, intermittent grinding and lagging. Ford will not tell you about these characteristics when you purchase the vehicle but they will inform you of it when you take it in for repair. Their advice is to get used to it and they will take no further action with assisting you with your dissatisfaction towards these transmissions because they save MPG, although they are not safe to drive.
