The state legislature of Oklahoma has placed State Question 790 on the ballot for the upcoming election, which promises to amend the state constitution to remove barriers to state funding of religion and to restore a contentious monument of the ten commandments to the grounds of the state capitol building. If approved, the results of this amendment to the constitution represent an intolerable violation of the First Amendment rights of non-Christians, non-religious persons, and Christians who disagree with the co-opting of their religious beliefs by state institutions. If approved, the Federal Government should prosecute the State of Oklahoma in order to restore constitutional government.
