It is time to end force our legislatures to pass bills based on the merit of the bill rather than by slipping in unrelated additions. Should a bill intended to protect our ports include legislation about the internet? Should a bill creating a database of people be passed solely because it included tsunami relief funds in it?
No!
This is vital reform that is needed for better oversight of our government. How can "We The People" be expected to maintain that it is the voice of the people as a whole controlling our government when important legislation has unrelated sections that undermine The People's ability to monitor those we give power to.
