We The People would like to respectfully petition the US Government to consider returning funding to the Integral Fast Reactor (IFR) program.
The IFR is a completely safe nuclear reactor design, as has been proven by EBR-I and II; US Government prototype IFRs produced by the National Laboratory Program in the 1960s-1980s.
This reactor type has the potential to change the face of energy in America and the world. It does so by providing unshakable safety and a revolutionary process whereby nuclear waste, previously stored, can be reused within the reactor for the entirety of the reactor's life cycle. Nuclear waste generated by non IFR reactors can also be recycled within the IFR plant.
