Promote coinage reform and discontinue the production of the U.S. Penny.

The manufacturing of a penny costs more than the face value of the coin itself. Tax dollars are going towards subsidizing this near worthless coin instead of going towards a more notable cause such as education or health care. The time is now for the penny to go the way of other previously made fractional cents which were also discontinued due to the improbability of them being used as legal tender. If you believe it is time to prioritize our national budget then coinage reform is a step in the right direction.
