The construction of magnetic levitation (mag-lev) railways for commercial and public transit will benefit the economy.
The creation of these railways will create blue collar jobs that average American citizens are qualified for. The stimulus caused by the job creation will only be the initial phase of economic benefit.
Mag-lev trains are able to transport much heavier loads per train car and are much faster than traditional rails. Once railways have been completed, these two benefits will increase efficiency in commercial freight shipping, decreasing operational costs. These decreased costs will allow manufacturers to sell products at a lower price. Consumers will then be able to spend more of their income on luxury items. This increased demand for goods will create additional jobs.
