Nuclear power is the only way to provide enough clean base-load (non-varying) electrical power to power our country. The Obama administration is too focused on the peak sources (aka the sources that vary over time) such as solar and wind, rather than the base-load sources which provide the majority of electricity used. In addition, systems such as solar and wind power can not be used for base-load power because they do not provide power when it is always needed. For instance, in the evening in northern states solar power would be useless, yet that is when most consumers come home from work and turn on their lights and televisions. Our only solution is to update our nuclear fleet and provide the base-load power needed to allow these other wonderful sources to be implemented in a sound way.
