Dental health is important to the overall well-being of each individual. Proper nutrition starts in the mouth; specifically with the teeth. The human dental apparatus, when intact, is a self-supporting device, capable of initiating the digestion of foods of a variety of different textures and firmnesses. However, once compromised, the defense and support of the dental apparatus is weakened, thus allowing for a 'chain-degradation', which can quickly take a once-healthy mouth for a u-turn.
Many American adults have never been to the dentist- or have been just once, only to find the fees, even for urgent and necessary practices, crippling. Procedures, such as braces, bridges and veneers, which correct the structure of the dental apparatus, are seen as 'cosmetic'. We shouldn't have to suffer!
