Promote the development of viable, non-lethal weapons.

Created by M.P. on December 14, 2012

People argue, with supporting evidence, that more firearms creates a safer environment. Others claim that more firearms simply increase the danger a firearm poses. Both arguments are valid, and there is a solution that appeals to both sides.

As a country, we should invest in the development of non-lethal weaponry as a safer alternative to firearms. Weapons that temporarily stun or paralyze can have the same effect as a firearm--stopping an attacker--without the serious risk of collateral damage posed by firearms.

Non-lethal weapons are more appropriate than firearms as a way of self-defense. Legitimate non-lethal weapons could prevent crime without the worries associated with increased gun ownership.
