promote funding of infrastructure improvements which, by definition, will not be funded the private sector.

Created by P.W. on September 22, 2011

Infrastructure in the United States is rapidly declining. DesignIntelligence, in a 2009 article, says "in recent years, we have still not been able to do the work necessary for our infrastructure systems to perform at an acceptable level. As a result, highways, bridges, and sewer lines are crumbling.... Despite safety improvements, an alarming number of people are killed on our roads. Pollution from sewer overflows and storm water runoff still flows into rivers and streams."

The private sector does not fix roads, bridges, and sewer lines without public funding. The private firms that do this work depend upon public funding to provide jobs.

We urge the President to support investing in our country to make it a first-class place to do business.
