Promote manufacturing of American-made products by eliminating the "Cost of Goods Sold" taxs deduction for imports.

Created by J.B. on November 19, 2012

Modify the business tax code to eliminate tax deductions (cost of goods sold) for products imported from other countries. This would apply to all components and finished products that are imported and then resold in this country.

This change to the tax code would be an incentive to manufacture more products in the U.S.; create additional manufacturing capacity in the U.S.; and create the jobs needed to manufacture those goods previously imported from other countries.

Businesses would have the freedom to import products as they choose, but would have to accept the negative tax implications of not being able to deduct the cost of those goods from their corporate taxes.

Raw materials and products native exclusively to other countries would be exempt from this requirement.
