Promote Positive Self-Images, Self Esteem and the Expansion of American Standards of Beauty Through Natural Hairstyles

In full recognition of the inherent silliness of trying to compel any person to wear their hair in one manner or another, as well as the inanity and double standard evident in the attention paid to the fashion choices made by only the female members of the First Family, we the undersigned hereby petition the Office of the First Lady to project, by way of example, at some point in this next four year term, a message to tens of millions of girls and women, that their natural hair, free of harsh chemical treatments, be it braided or twisted or locked or otherwise naturally coiffed, is beautiful, elegant, fashionable, and socially acceptable at the highest level of society, including at White House social and ceremonial events.
