The protection, expansion, and restoration of wilderness areas is essential in order to decrease our national ecologic footprint and live sustainably, with future generations in mind. According to the University of Montana, less than 5% of the entire United States is dedicated to protected wilderness areas. This leaves 95% of our land unprotected and open to small and large scale eradication. With booming construction and rapidly expanding cities, it is easy to lose sight of the importance of wildlife and nature.
