I have seen schools with water leaking down the walls. I have seen schools with tiles missing out of the floors. I have seen classrooms with no books. I have seen our schools become so under funded that even the basics are no longer available for student use.
Teachers spend their own money to feed children snacks, to buy pencils and supplies. As a nation we should be outraged at how underfunded our schools have become. We need to make education a true national priority. We need to tell the youth that we care about them, that they are valued in society.
The teachers of Sandy Hook have showed that teachers love their children and are willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for them. It is time that we as a nation make a minor sacrifice of funding to ensure our future.
