We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

A Proposal to Create Stricter Gun Control Laws

Created by B.B. on June 12, 2016

Gun owners want to keep their weapons to feel safe, but is it really worth it if more people fear guns than own them?

We've all gotten to the point where we don't feel safe anywhere. Congress has a job to create laws to protect the people. The more we let these shootings fly by us, the less protected we feel.

If someone wants to own a gun, this person must undergo a thorough background check, provide a justifiable reason for purchasing the weapon and undergo a psychiatric evaluation to assure this person is capable of owning a weapon. Semi-automatic weapons should be banned from the market because there is simply no need for such a powerful weapon in any community.

I strongly urge Congress to give us all a sense of safety and prevent any firearm from getting in the wrong hands.
