Life time appointments to the Supreme Court should not exist. A constitutional amendment is proposed:
A Supreme Court Justice shall sit for a term of 18 years.
America created judicial inertia with life time appointments. Perhaps wise at the time; this is more anchor than inertia in our climate of high velocity legal, cultural, and information exchange. With due respect to the brilliance of our justices.... four 75+ year olds with 20+ years of service each? #Retire @Ginsburg @Scalia @Kennedy @Breyer.
