The Obama administration propose amending the US Constitution to allow those who are eligible to vote in US elections and are at least 18 years of age to be able to serve as elected members of the House of Representatives and the Senate. In addition, this amendment would allow those who are natural-born US citizens who are at least 18 to be able to serve as President of the United States.
There are many problems facing this generation and subsequent generations. Moreover, I feel that only those with a true stake in the future can get these problems solved. I also believe that this would encourage more young people to become politically active, as it would allow them to have a stronger voice and a say in the political system.
