Currently the U.S. employs a Jus Sol method for Citizenship. A citizenship conferred by jus soli means that a person acquires citizenship through her place of birth. For instance, a person born in the United States or any U.S. territories is automatically granted U.S. citizenship upon birth. This is provided without any condition and concern about the citizenship or ethnicity of both parents.
Jus Sanguinis refers to acquiring the citizenship by descent, which is also known as citizenship by "right of blood." This means that a child is rightfully bestowed the citizenship of the parents upon birth regardless of which country he is born in.
By this change we correct the problem of Anchor Babies and Maternity Tourism which gives U.S. citizenship to the children of Foreign Nationals.
