propose an amendment to the Constitution that limits the number of terms Congress members can serve.

Created by B.L. on October 03, 2011

The recent events of the near-default of the national economy shows that Congress is out of touch with the needs of the American people and are solely concerned about party politics. How could someone who hasn't lived in the state they represent for over eight years (and sometimes much more) possibly understand the situation of their constituents? How could someone with a Congressional salary and benefits comprehend the issues facing the middle class? How can someone who begins worrying about reelection from the moment they enter office begin to address the issues of the people? The simple answer is they cannot. If their terms are limited by Constitutional amendment, perhaps Congress members will worry less about party politics and more about the people they represent.
