Propose an amendment to the Constitution in order to allow for nationwide ballot proposals to give the people more power

Created by J.G. on January 16, 2016

In order to give more power to the people and reduce the amount of corruption in the government, we petition President Obama and Speaker Ryan to propose an amendment to the Constitution that would allow for national ballot measures. Including national ballot measures during general elections would allow the citizens of the United States to determine important issues instead of relying on elected politicians who may not properly represent the people. Ballot measures would allow the people to call for a vote on issues some elected officials do not want to consider; for example, ballot measures could be proposed to call for a vote on the Affordable Care Act, audit the federal reserve, or establish term limits for members of Congress.
