Propose an amendment to the U.S. Constitution that officially legalizes gay marriage in the United States.

Created by R.H. on November 06, 2013

If reproductive rights, women's rights, civil rights, right to bear arms, and freedom of speech are constitutional under the law, and with the Defense of Marriage Act deemed "unconstitutional" by the Supreme Court, then a 28th amendment should be added to the U.S. Constitution, where people have the right to wed one another, regardless of sexual orientation or gender. As of today, nearly 30% of the U.S. have officiated gay couples to get married and continues to grow as the years go by. According to the recent Pew Research poll, 50% of Americans favor gay marriage. Times are changing, and if we are the country for fair opportunity for all, then gay people should be accounted for the same reason.
