The "Do Your Job" bill
In the event of any budget impasse resulting in government shutdown or inability for the US to honor its debts, all elected representatives of the House of Representatives and the Senate, the President, and any relevant parties designated by the President, Speaker of the House, or Minority Leader, are required to remain in Washington DC. Congress is required to be in session no less than 10 hours a day until it is resolved, and does not break for weekends, holidays, or special days. Chamber attendance is mandatory.
In the event of a shutdown or other situation causing federal workers to be furloughed until the budget is resolved, the salary and stipends of all of the above listed are withheld until the furlough or shutdown are resolved.
