Under this administration, members of our military have been persecuted and reprimanded for the expression of religious freedom, a right that is guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States. In many instances, the US Army has restricted this right to its servicemen and women, sometimes ending careers due to religious expression. Servicemen and women now are not allowed to have a bible at their desk. A chaplain was relieved of his position because, in accordance with the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA)'s definition of marriage, would not allow same-sex marriages to take place in the chapel.
These men and women fight for our liberties and rights as Americans, and it is unjust for them to be afraid of expressing their religious beliefs.
