Section 1. Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of race, sex, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, veteran or military status, pregnancy, age and religion.
Section 2. The Congress shall have the power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article.
Section 3. This amendment shall take effect two years after the date of ratification.
This would invalidate the Defense of Marriage Act and State Bans on Same-Sex Marriage. It would also support laws requiring Equal Pay for Equal Work, and require full integration of Woman in the U.S. Armed Forces.
This Amendment supports the most American of ideals, and finally ends lawful, institutionalized discrimination and bigotry in the U.S.
