Propose a Balanced Budget Constitutional Amendment to Congress.

We the People propose an amendment to the effect that the annual federal budget will be balanced unless 2/3 of both Houses of Congress vote otherwise in the case of war or a national emergency.
The benefits of this include:
1. Controlling our national debt which is now larger than the GDP.
2. Limiting the size of our national government which has overreached into private life.
3. Potentially lowering taxes as the federal government learns to be fiscally responsible.
There are many things that need to be reformed in our United States, but this is one of the most important. We urge you to consider this amendment and take a big step toward limiting our federal government and growing the economy by encouraging American private businesses and individuals to increase production and create jobs.
