Manufacturing jobs have gone overseas and are not likely to come back. The working class need to new skills in order to be employable. The working class could take courses which help them get certified in new skills which make them more competitive in the global economy. We should make it simple - they go to school, they expense it to the federal government. No degree higher than an associates could be expensed in this manner. For those who say it would add to the national debt, i say we can balance it by cutting defense by 100 billion. If people could learn new skills for the current state of the economy, then employers would have an easier time hiring them. Another benefit is that instructors would be hired for semester long contracts.
