propose a change to Congressional pay and benefits

Created by Z.F. on December 12, 2012

The American people invest over $93 MILLION per year in Congressional pay, not including benefits, but we are not seeing the results we voted, nor paid for.

New Proposal for Congressional Pay:
In the Senate: Senators receive the median income of their state of residence. Senate Party leaders receive their state's median income + 1 standard deviation, or the median income of the US + 1 SD, which ever is greater

In the House: a Congressperson would receive the median pay of their Congressional Districts. House Congressional Party Leaders would receive their respective states' median income. The Speaker of the House would receive the US median income.

Congress' room, board, & travel will continue to be paid by the American people, much like a dormitory on a college campus
