As a nation, we are fragmented and divisive. There are actually United States citizens loudly proclaiming in the media their intent to start a civil war, such as former rock star and current human cartoonTed Nugent.
As a nation, we used to all share certain common beliefs, such as "treason is bad" or "Teamwork is an American value" or "No one likes taxes, but we all like having roads." Without a clear public voice espousing these common sense values that were universal once upon a time, we are drifting apart as a nation.
We, as citizens, OWN a media empire that espouses old fashioned American values to the REST of the world. Radio Free Europe and the Voice of America toppled the Soviets by explaining what America stands for.
We need that explained to America now.
