Propose to Congress the Governance Accountability and Ethics Act (GAEA) to enforce ethics provisions in public office.

Created by T.G. on November 14, 2011

Jack Abramoff summarized his recent 60 Minutes interview as "The Idiot's Guide to Buying a Congressman." Our political process produces ethically questionable situations and tempts those in government office to put their own political interests above the interests of our country.

Please propose a bill to Congress that at the very least does the following two things:

1 - "Follow the money." Require disclosure of the source of all money contributed to campaigns of those running for federal office.

2 - "Remove temptation." Implement Jack Abramoff's number one suggestion: Prohibit public servants from becoming lobbyists after they leave office.

Publicize the heck out of the proposal and shame those who refuse to support it.
