Propose That Congress Raise the Minimum Wage Automatically Periodically

We ask that the President propose a minimum wage law that a) revises upward on a more realistic 21st-century basis the federal poverty level; b) sets the minimum wage above poverty level for a typical minimum wage employee; c) adjusts the minimum wage every X years to take account of inflation/deflation and the cost-of-living, by default automatically if not done by legislative action; d) applies to all wage earners, whether full-time, part-time, temporary, contract, tipped, foreign guest, or whatsoever, and applies to all working prisoners (free prison labor being slavery); f) goes up $X with every hour or portion thereof worked over 8 hours in a day. Why: Paying starvation wages is immoral; cheating workers sucks money out of the economy; putting money into the economy = more business.
