Propose Congress reduce Congressional pay to the current federal hourly minimum wage

Created by J.L. on April 04, 2013

We believe the US Congress should reduce their pay to the current federal hourly minimum wage.

We believe that Congress would quickly raise the minimum wage to a living wage, though not equivalent current congressional pay levels.

We believe it would also provide Congressional representatives more insight into the struggles faced by families struggling to get by on the minimum wage.

As an alternative, the Obama Administration may wish to propose Congress tie future increases in the federal minimum wage to increases in Congressional salaries.
