Propose Congressional term limits of 12 yrs. Senators may serve only 2 terms and Representatives may serve only 6 terms.

Created by C.M. on October 19, 2011

We have seen too many career politicians. Therefore, Senators and Representatives should be held to strict term limits, similar to what the President is held to. Senators would be limited to two (2) 6-year terms. Representatives would be lmited to six (6) 2-year terms. All Congressional elected officials would be allowed to serve no more than a total of 12 years total in any one chamber. However, an elected official would be allowed to serve terms in both chambers (i.e. 12 years in the Senate and 12 years in the House for a total Congressional service of no more than 24 years).
