propose a Constitutional amendment: "This Constitution shall apply only to the people of the United States of America."

Created by T.R. on September 23, 2011

Because of the 2009 Supreme Court decision in the case Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission, it has become necessary to add this 28th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States. In its decision the Court ruled that a corporation is entitled to the full rights of free speech under the First Amendment. This decision was without foundation, as the Constitution itself makes no mention of corporations and grants them no rights. Corporations are not citizens. The Supreme Court decision threatens our nation and increases the unchecked influence of corporations in our democratic process. The Constitution should be clarified so that it applies only to the people of the United States of America.
