America was founded largely by Christians & on Christian principles. These include marriage being between a man & a woman. With current technology and the apparently anti-christian goals of the current administration & democratic party we need to legally define marriage and keep it from being further politicized when it is not about politics but it is about right & wrong. Unfortunately this amendment will need to explicitly allow for divorce/widowhood & remarriage. It should also prohibit the extension of marriage like benefits to unmarried individuals/couples/partners.
