Propose a Constitutional amendment establishing term limits for Congress, with voting results immediately made public.

Created by D.W. on January 22, 2012

Our Government was never meant to be a career. It is an honor and a duty to serve, therefore, there must be an end date for this service. The current Senate contains 29 members who have served at least 15 years. The current House contains 115 member with at least 15 years (and 11 more with prior service). This includes 8 and 22, respectively, with at least 30 years of representation. This is not to be admired. It is a symptom of an attitude that these men and women no longer listen to their constituents as they have enough name recognition to guarantee themselves election. Propose a Constitutional amendment which establishes a lifetime, 12 year term limit for Congressional representation. This should cut down on corruption, and allow a newer generation of legislators to serve their country
