It's time to make a drastic change in our political system. Congress is diseased with partisan politics and greed, resulting in ego-driven gridlock. Trying to pass any meaningful legislation has become chest puffing contest.. If term limits are enacted, toeing the party line will be less important, as the need for re-election and holding onto party seats will no longer be the driving force behind most legislative decisions. Therefore, Congress will have an easier time passing the legislation that will make a positive difference for the nation.
Congress will be more responsible toward their constituents because they will soon be constituents themselves, just as the forefathers expected.
