Propose a Constitutional Amendment for Military Service as a Requirement to become President of the United States

Created by T.H. on March 12, 2013

There is a feeling among military service members and United States citizens alike for this to become a constitutional amendment. I believe the President should do at the very least an enlistment in any branch of the Armed Forces. Then he or she would know what it is like to send men and women into combat because they experience that for themselves. Furthermore in a time like the current crisis it never fails the first cut a lot of Presidents want to make is to the Department of Defense. Especially Presidents that have no military experience. I believe they should know how any cut to the military and their families affects them firsthand from experience.
